Born from a love of Uganda's wild places
Bunya Adventures was founded by Ugandan guides who grew up in the shadow of Bwindi's forest. We believe the best way to protect Africa's wildlife is to share it — responsibly, authentically, unforgettably.
From the forest floor to the world stage
It started with a single gorilla trek in 2018. Our founder,Robert Mayanja, led a small group of travellers into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and watched their lives change in an instant. That moment — the silence of the forest, the rustle of leaves, the sudden appearance of a silverback — became the seed of Bunya Adventures.
Today we operate across Uganda's finest national parks and cultural heartlands, with a team of over 30 expert guides, naturalists, and hospitality professionals. Every trip we run contributes directly to local conservation projects and community development funds.

Robert Mayanja
Founder & Lead Gorilla Guide
Robert has spent 15 years tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi. He speaks five languages and has guided wildlife documentaries for BBC and National Geographic.
Grace Atuhaire
Safari & Birding Specialist
Grace is one of Uganda's top birding guides, with over 900 species identified. She leads our Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls expeditions.
Moses Byaruhanga
Cultural & Community Guide
Moses grew up in a Batwa community near Bwindi and bridges the gap between travellers and local culture with warmth and deep knowledge.
